Our Masterclass programme now reaches students in all corners of the UK at both primary and secondary level, with over 4500 students from Aberdeen to Truro taking part in Masterclasses this year.

We’re looking for a Science Engagement Manager to lead and support the delivery of high quality visitor engagement across our science centre. You’ll coach and support Life’s explainer team to help them deliver confident, welcoming and inclusive engagement, working closely with Duty Managers to ensure a consistently great visitor experience. You will also be responsible for line managing a small team of Science Engagement Producers, a Lead Maker and Science Engagement Laboratory Technician.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues to understand and implement visitor feedback, help shape ideas for a range of science activities and maintain quality and consistency in the design and delivery of science engagement content for families and other audiences.
The successful candidate will bring experience of facilitating, coaching, and line managing teams, as well as proven ability to support different engagement techniques, including performance, in a busy visitor facing environment. A genuine interest in all aspects of STEM, strong interpersonal skills, and a flexible approach to work are essential. A degree (or equivalent) in a science or relevant subject is essential. The role will require weekend working and some evening work.

The Urenco Young Scientist Centre (UYSC) is an imaginative laboratory space at the Ri, where young people from Years 3-13 can experience and explore science outside of the classroom. This is a hands on, early careers opportunity to learn about, and gain experience of science communication and engagement. You will be involved in the delivery and presentation of workshops in the UYSC where students become a scientist for the day, testing their own ideas by designing creative science experiments.

We’re looking for a Contemporary Science Manager to create and deliver an exciting programme of science engagement that inspires adults and young people across the Northeast.
You’ll design imaginative events around cutting‑edge science, working with researchers, industry partners, creatives and communities to bring contemporary science stories to life. From shaping ideas to delivering events, you’ll manage the full programme and find fresh ways to engage audiences.
You’ll have a have a degree (or equivalent) in a science subject and experience in developing or delivering engaging science content or programmes for a range of audiences. You’ll be confident communicating complex ideas clearly to non‑specialist audiences, both verbally and in writing, enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, and have experience contributing to projects or events. An interest in evaluation and using feedback to improve future activity is also important.

Royal Holloway, University of London is seeking a creative and collaborative Freelance Project Curator to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a unique science-art exhibition on cybersecurity. This project will bring together young adults and cybersecurity researchers from the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Cybersecurity for the Everyday at Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL), to co-create an engaging and thought-provoking public exhibition.
The project will translate cybersecurity research into accessible public content and will explore how digital security affects daily life. The curator will facilitate workshops, guide participants through the creative process and deliver a coherent exhibition for the University’s Exhibition Space.
