The Beetlestone Award recognises someone making a significant impact in science communication. To be eligible, applicants should have been actively engaged in the field of informal STEM learning for over 8 years, be in a leadership role in the UK, and be able to demonstrate vision and legacy from career achievements. The winning candidate will be demonstrably outstanding in:
- Achievements in progressing the field
- Demonstration of impact
- Strength and clarity of vision for their personal role and for the field
- Developing a legacy for the field
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion within their work
The prize includes:
- UK-wide recognition
- A personalised trophy
- A personal award of £500
- Access to a bursary of up to £500 to facilitate dissemination
- Your BIG Event conference fee paid, where you will be presented with your award.
You can apply for the award yourself, or nominate someone, who we will contact, encouraging them to apply. Nominations must be received by midnight, end of 24th April. Applications must be received by midnight, end of 1st May.
