Job details:
The Wellcome / EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS) are seeking a Science Communication Events Officer to support the development and delivery of interactive public activities that explore and explain research at the centre.

Working closely with the Public Engagement Manager, the post holder will support members’ involvement in public events, by assisting in development and delivery of interactive, engaging activities and helping to reuse activities from a centre-wide public open day. They will also support internal practice sharing and conduct a review of national engagement activity in medical data research in preparation for a large centre grant.

The post will start towards the end of April, but it would be beneficial if the successful candidate were available to attend an open day on 7th April. The post is funded on a casual basis at two - three days per week (spilt into half days if required) for five months (six months if two days per week).

The Centre:
WEISS brings together engineers, scientists and clinicians to develop applied technical solutions to clinical issues, often related to the challenges of laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. Research themes commonly relate to generating, analysing and applying medical data, including medical imaging, robotics, artificial intelligence and sensors.
