Shifts will vary each week and could be on any day of 7, with regular weekend work required and occasional evening work.
Hourly rate: £6.15, £7.70 or £8.21 Dictated by NMW.
At Dundee Science Centre, we pride ourselves on our visitor interactions. You will show exceptional customer service skills that will be on display when you engage with our visitors through our science shows, workshops, children's parties and activities, interacting with families and members of the public, corporate clients, schools and community groups. In addition you will welcome visitors to the centre at our reception desk and serve visitors in our gift shop and occasionally in our coffee shop. You will be the public face of Dundee Science Centre ensuring a high-quality experience for all visitors.
This post is perfect for someone with a passion for science and customer service who has an interest in visitor attractions.
The position of Science Communicator is available on a varied hours contract, with hours dictated by the amount of anticipated business. Hours of work will consist of occasional weekdays and regular weekend work, as these tend to be our busy periods during school term time. Occasional evening work and trips offsite to deliver outreach activities are part of the post depending on the needs of the business.
