Fleming Initiative Exhibition Content Developer

18 Jul 2025 3:57 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

I'm very excited that my client the Fleming Initiative is now advertising two roles that offer opportunities to deliver a purposeful permanent exhibition at the heart of a new research centre and public venue, in Paddington, London. Plus an additional role ensuring diverse voices shape the public offer and the Fleming Initiative's wider groundbreaking work.

The Fleming Initiative is a new partnership led by Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The Initiative aims to protect global populations from the threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through an innovative approach combining research, behaviour change, public engagement, and policy. At the heart of this vision is a purpose-built Fleming Centre London, due to open in 2028, where visitors can discover and contribute to the past, present and future of AMR research.

The public offer will comprise object displays, art commissions, powerful personal stories, digital assets and interactives worthy of the world’s best museums, galleries and science centres, based at the St Mary’s hospital campus, the location of Sir Alexander Fleming’s discovery of penicillin.  The exhibition will incorporate agile, updatable opportunities for visitors to participate in engaged AMR research, creating a living lab as an extension of the Fleming Centre’s research spaces.

I've been involved with this really exciting Initiative for a couple of years, operating as their Public Engagement & Involvement Lead on a consultancy basis, including shaping the vision for the public offer at the Fleming Centre. I'm really looking forward to continued involvement at a strategic level, including working closely with these new in-house roles. Do consider joining us!

Please do share with your networks and I'm happy to have informal chats about the project if helpful (this would need to be w/c 21 July as I'm on leave this week)
