Job Title:                           Technical and Production Coordinator

 

Can you provide logistical and technical support to the Demonstration Team, ensuring the effective coordination of resources and the development and delivery of world-class scientific demonstrations for CHRISTMAS LECTURES, Discourses and family and school events to engage audiences?

 

Accountable to:              Head of Demonstration

Location:                          21 Albemarle Street, London/ with some remote working/working at other venues

Contract type:                 Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)

Salary:                               £30K to £31k per annum

Closing Date:                   Midnight on Monday 23 May

Interview Dates:             Friday 27 May

 

As successful applicant you will collaborate with colleagues across the Ri, liaising with presenters and lecturers, and coordinating props to ensure effective scheduling and administration of resources. You will maintain the Demo room, machinery, and storage to ensure a safe working environment and coordinate and manage the logistics for internal, national, and international shows to ensure safe delivery of shows.

You will maintain the Demo Asset register for props, scripts and repair and stage-manage demonstrations and science shows acting as a ‘Responsible Person’ to ensure risk is managed in line with COSHH and Health and Safety guidelines. You will develop, build, and deliver demonstrations and contribute to the development and delivery of Science Shows.

 

Experienced in developing and/or delivering inclusive science shows for children and/or adult audiences, ideally both online and in-person, you will be able to communicate complex science topics to a variety of audiences and settings, using a variety of media. Experience in planning logistics and stock control, a knowledge of Health and Safety/ Chemical Safety and pyrotechnics would be desirable.
