About Us

Animal Free Research UK is the leading charity working towards a world where human diseases are cured faster without animal suffering. By pioneering excellence, inspiring and supporting scientists and influencing change, we are improving medical research and putting an end to animal testing.

By 2040, we aim to transform medical research and regulation in the UK so that the development of treatments for human diseases can be entirely animal free and breakthroughs can be achieved faster.

To ensure we achieve our vision, we need to influence change, particularly within the scientific community. As such, we are looking for a Science Director to join us to lead all scientific activities and oversee our Public Affairs workstream.

This is an amazing opportunity to drive awareness of the alternatives to animal testing, which will ultimately make a life-saving difference to people and animals.

You will have the chance to make a lasting impact, both within our organisation and outside of it, by leading on all science matters and shaping our Public Affairs function.

You will be able to influence the legislation that supports animal free research, making this a unique opportunity to help end animal suffering and transform the way in which disease is combatted. If you think you could make a difference as part of our award-winning team, we want to hear from you.

Applying knowledge of new approach methodologies, you will gain acceptance of replacing the use of animals in medical research.

Additionally, you will oversee public affairs, ensuring the strategic deployment of our resources to create the most impact to support our vision.
