BIG Membership Bursary Form
Applicants will be notified of their application status w/c 6 July via email.
This year, BIG has extended all existing memberships for one year due to the disruption of COVID-19, and the online BIG Event will be free to all BIG Members. In place of our regular event-based bursaries, the BIG Executive Committee has decided to offer up to 30 free BIG Memberships to anyone in the STEM engagement sector*. If you would like to apply for a free Membership, please complete this form telling us why you think a BIG membership would be of value to you, in no more than 250 words. If we receive more than 30 applications, we will be placing applications into a lottery to draw the 30 recipients.
To apply, please tell us why you think a BIG Membership would be of value to you – you can do this in the following ways through this online application form:
- In no more than 250 words, describe why you think a BIG Membership would be of value to you; OR
- Attach a link to an audio or video clip (of no more than 2 minutes) describing why you think a BIG Membership would be of value to you.
If these options don’t work for you, please get in touch (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can discuss an alternative way for you to apply.
As with all of our bursary programmes, we are looking to support people who are committed to STEM Engagement and Communication.
We will treat all information you provide in strictest confidence. The information will only be used to allocate the Membership bursaries and in reviewing the effectiveness of the bursary programme.
The bursary covers your BIG membership for one year and enables you to join any of the online BIG Events for FREE in July. It is open to anyone.
To apply for a Membership Bursary, please complete this form by clicking on 'register' to the left of this text.
Deadline: 11:59pm, Sunday 5th July, 2020 - sorry, late applications will not be considered.

*We welcome applications from anyone working in STEM engagement. However, as a UK-based organisation, if we receive a large number of non-UK applications, we will be limiting free Memberships for people operating outside of the UK to no more than 10 of the 30.
