Catalyst Science Discovery Centre (a registered charity) is the only science discovery centre in the UK with chemistry and STEM as its main theme. It has an extensive educational programme for schools and the general public and offers activities for a wide range of ages from infants up to adult learners.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team, working with the Education Manager to help develop and deliver Catalyst’s educational activities to schools, groups and the general public and to help with administration within the education department.
Science Degree or equivalent qualification
Enthusiasm for science and science communication
Excellent communication skills to suit a variety of audiences
Ability to contribute to the writing of shows and workshops for school and
Able to manage a diverse workload and take responsibility for managing
equipment and resources
Ability to work flexibly to suit the needs of the business which may include
some early starts, late finishes and weekends
On appointment you will need to apply for an enhanced DBS check as you
will be working with children
Experience of delivering information and/or leading workshops or other activities Experience of development of science activities for the general public/school groups
The successful candidate will work part time, minimum 4 days a week, which will include some public holidays and weekends. Salary in the range of £12k per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
