Salary range £24-30K per annum (depending on experience)

We are looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Science Events Manager to lead the planning, research, development and delivery of an ambitious programme of events for non-family audiences and to build on the success of existing activities.  

The successful candidate will have managed public events in a similar cultural environment and will be familiar with a range of techniques for engaging the public in science based activities.  You will be a meticulous and methodical planner with an eye for detail and the enthusiasm and commitment to drive forward a complex and innovative science events programme for your target audience, including lectures and debates. With your wealth of event management experience, you will have all the skills required to liaise with the many individuals and departments involved in bringing a successful event to fruition, including public engagement, education, operations and marketing.  

A degree (or equivalent other appropriate qualification) is essential for the role, although this does not necessarily need to be in a science subject.  It is vital that you can demonstrate a broad understanding and interest in contemporary sciencewith an awareness of the current issues in the field of science communication.

Flexibility is essential as this role will involve some evening and weekend work.
