Have funds, will travel ! (Grants available)

Cath Winkler, Techniquest

Six weeks visiting science centres across Australia, certainly gives plenty of opportunity to reflect, evaluate and appreciate that there are many ways to communicate science.

An advertisement for the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travelling Fellowship motivated me to put together a project looking at science centre education programmes. After a couple of written applications and interview, I heard that I could go! Six weeks in Australia, from Perth to Brisbane with my airfare and daily living expenses covered.

One hundred fellowships are awarded each year from approximately 1500 applicants.Since my travels, I have been challenged to consider alternative approaches and made many useful contacts.I would highly recommend the experience!
