Four more projects have been plucked off the Millennium Commission Round 3 long-list to funding stardom.

Renue
Merton/Wandsworth, Greater London
£1.8m (£895,954 from Mill. Comm.).
Two sustainable energy education centres which will combine the best of sustainable technologies and education in working demonstrations.

National Pondlife Centre
Liverpool, Merseyside
£3.8m (£1.9m from Mill. Comm.)
A national pondlife centre dedicated to conservation, protection and management of existing ponds.  A pondlife centre will provide an educational visitor attraction to promote understanding of ponds. Promoted by Liverpool John Moores University.  Contact Dr Andrew Hull Tel: 0151 231 4046.

The Deep
Humberside
£36.9m (£18.5m from Mill. Comm.)
A visitor attraction and research facility examining the sea. It will include an aquarium and cover 7,500-sq.m. It will use IT and interactive displays to examine the sea-life of the world’s oceans from prehistoric times to the present day. Promoted by Kingston-Upon-Hull City Council.

Magna
Rotherham, South Yorkshire
£50.69m (£18.6m from Mill. Comm.)
Templeborough Steel Mill steel visitor attraction based around British Industry. Exhibitions will include robotics, interactive computers, live video and virtual reality.  Promoted by Rotherham Borough Council.  Contact Mr I Hawkridge Tel: 01709 823 849.

National Forest Millennium
Discovery Centre

Swadlingcote, Derbyshire
£13.37m (£6.23m from the Mill. Comm.)
Two visitor facilities: a Discovery Centre which will focus on education and demonstrations of innovative uses of wood and wood technology; and a Forest Visitor Centre giving day-to-day information on the National Forest.

One of the many Millennium Award schemes which seems relevant to BIG members in addition to the BA and Techniquest schemes is the :

Museums Association ‘ Sharing Skills’ Millennium Awards
Millennium Commission grant £1.2m
